What are some important things to keep in mind when integrating technology with this subject area?

Copyright issues within the arts are also something you need to think about, make sure that students are using copyright free images within his/her art work.

Server/computer capabilities are also something that you need to take into consideration when using these programs.

What are some lessons that work with this subject area?

The Incredible Art Department has many art based technology lessons on their website.

One successful art lesson I have done is a Triazzle Puzzle Project. Students are given an assignment as a puzzle designer. Their job is to create a triazzle puzzle for 5th grade students using photoshop. They had to create the board, the icons from on the board, and make it eye appealing. We than sent them over to the 5th grade class at the elementary and the best design was chosen.

Personal Art Blog: Students ask a question and share something about the content presented. Creates an on-going dialog between student and teacher (and peers). Students may add images of their own work for reflection/critique.
