The word identification strategy called DISSECT can easily be incorportated with the use of iPods. Students first read passages of 400 words into the iPod after being taught the process of DISSECT. They will then listen to themselves, marking any mispronounced words, on the iPod and use the DISSECT strategy to help them break down and pronounce words correctly.
